Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy covers layerwatch.dev and the free tools we publish (including the Layerwatch collector, local UI and MCP server once released). It explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Early-access requests. When you submit an early-access form on this site, your email address, and any optional note you choose to add about your team or setup, are sent to and stored by our form provider, Formspree, so we can follow up about access and product updates.
• Automatic connection logs. Like most websites, requests to layerwatch.dev pass through our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which logs standard technical data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security and performance. We don't run our own analytics or tracking scripts on this site, and our fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service.

How we use your information

We use your email, and any note you send, solely to reach out about early access and material product updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run this site:

• Formspree — processes early-access form submissions.
• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and security.

Each operates under its own privacy policy governing the data it processes on our behalf.

Cookies

layerwatch.dev does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set minimal, essential cookies required for security and site performance.

Data retention

We retain your email address, and any note you sent, for as long as you remain on the early-access list. You can request removal at any time — see Contact below.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's privacy

Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

Our products

Layerwatch is designed to run on your own machine or inside infrastructure you control. In local mode, collected evidence is stored in a local workspace and is not sent to Layerwatch. If you choose to use a hosted AI model for analysis, redacted source excerpts are sent to that model provider under your configuration. We will publish detailed data-handling documentation with each release.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify the early-access list by email.
