Overview

This policy covers layerwatch.dev and the free tools we publish (the browser extension, and the open-source MCP proxy once released). It explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Waitlist signups. When you submit your email through the early access form on this site, it's sent to and stored by our form provider, Formspree, so we can notify you about access and product updates.
• Automatic connection logs. Like most websites, requests to layerwatch.dev pass through our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which logs standard technical data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security and performance. We don't run our own analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

How we use your information

We use your email solely to reach out about early access and material product updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run this site:

• Formspree — processes waitlist form submissions.
• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and security.

Each operates under its own privacy policy governing the data it processes on our behalf.

Cookies

layerwatch.dev does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set minimal, essential cookies required for security and site performance.

Data retention

We retain your email address for as long as you remain on the waitlist. You can request removal at any time — see Contact below.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's privacy

Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

Our products

The Layerwatch browser extension processes everything locally in your browser — it has no background service worker and makes no network requests. Read the full extension privacy policy for details. The MCP proxy, when released, will run entirely on your own machine and write logs only to your local filesystem — nothing is sent to Layerwatch.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify the waitlist by email.
